    When: Saturday and/or Sunday Program

    Sessions: 13
    Times: 9:30am to 3:00pm (11:45 – 12:30 pm lunch)

    Focus:

Standing sideways and having all the Fun. Our amazing coach’s goal is to provide a safe environment to learn new tricks and skills either in the park, on jumps and rails, around the mountain smashing POW or sending it deep on the landing bag. Riders looking to join this crew MUST be able to confidently ride BLUE runs on both edges in all conditions. This program is intended to develop and refine skills in a structured and safe manner, and it is not aimed at preparing for competitions – but rather learning new things and riding with friends! Creating friends and snowboarders for life is our goal! Competition opportunities could be available to riders looking for that opportunity.

Riders will acquire more advanced riding and jumping skills and learn a variety of tricks and maneuvers, safely and efficiently. Coaches are trained and certified through the Freestyle Canada Coaching courses to develop skills around the mountain and in the Slopestyle/Terrain Park.

All athletes will have access to the Apex Freestyle Terrain Area AFTA which is a development initiative between Apex Mountain Resort and the Apex Freestyle Club. It exists to provide training and competition opportunities for the sport of freestyle and all of its athletes. These facilities are possible because of the dedication and generosity of Apex Mountain Resort along with the countless volunteer hours and funding initiatives of the Apex Freestyle Club and include:

    • Mogul Jump Air Site

    • Mogul Course

    • Mini Mogul Course

    • Jump site

    • Air Bag Site

*Note: that as applicable there will be additional costs for athletes such as competition registrations, competition coaching, extra camps, and dryland training.

Our focus remains the same. Fun, just faster. Riders looking to join this crew MUST be able to confidently ride BLACK runs on BOTH edges in all conditions and be confident hitting medium to large features in the terrain park. The goal is to take the skills these rippers already have and add to them by riding bigger and faster and with more STYLE! This program is not aimed at riders looking to compete but those opportunities are there if a rider should find they want to go in that direction. The goal for this program is to create snowboarders for life!
