Alexa Chick

Meet Alexa Chick - Head Coach & Program Director at Apex Freestyle Club. Alexa’s impressive background includes three years on the NorAm tour as an athlete with the Ontario Mogul Team. After her athletic retirement in 2018, Alexa transitioned into coaching and hasn’t looked back. Prior to taking over as the HC & PD of Apex Freestyle Club in 2024 from her mentor, Rob Kober, her coaching experience included 3 years as the Competitive Mogul Team coach for her home club of Calabogie Freestyle in Ottawa, and 2 years as the Mogul Program Lead for Caledon Ski Club in Southern Ontario, as well as 1 year as the Assistant Head Coach for Central Alberta Freestyle Ski Club in Red Deer. She’s now proud to call the South Okanagan - and our club - her home!

With 20 years in freestyle skiing and 8 years of coaching under her belt, Alexa’s passion now lies in developing programs that help young freestyle skiers chase their goals with confidence. With the help of AFC’s rockstar roster of coaches, Alexa oversees the development and delivery of everything from our FUNstylerz and Freestyle Big Mountain programs, to our High-Performance Mogul Team. She also manages AFC’s summer water ramp & trampoline programming, coach development, and all of AFC’s internationally-renowned freestyle facilities and terrain. A strong technical skiing and jumping coach, with exceptional soft skills, particularly in mental performance, Alexa is dedicated to helping athletes become well-rounded skiers as well as well-rounded individuals!
