Who: Ages 6 – 10/ Co-ed or Girls Only Options Available
When: Saturdays and/or Sundays, Full or Half Days
Dates: Jan 3, 2026 to March 14, 2026
Formerly known as Fundamentalz Jumps and Bumps! Learn the FUNdamentalz of Freestyle Skiing! Please kindly note, this is not a learn-to-ski program. Participants must already be comfortable skiing on intermediate terrain and riding chairlifts independently.
Through the bumps and over jumps...Lessons will cover all of the basics to learn how to stand strong, carve a ski, safely hit your first jumps, learn some tricks, ski safely and confidently down most of Apex's great terrain! But most of all, it will be tons of smiles, lots of laughs, and lifelong friendships!
Fundamentals skiing skills applied to ALL of Apex Mountain Resort’s terrain: groomed runs, Moguls, Park and All Mountain as well as learning to jump SAFELY developing strong fundamental ski acrobatic skills.
Prerequisite: Skiers must be able to load a T-bar and/or chairlift unassisted AND ski comfortably on blue runs. This is not a Learn 2 Ski program; those looking for Learn 2 Ski programming should contact Apex Mountain Resort's Ski School.
*Note that as applicable there will be additional costs for athletes such as competition registrations, competition coaching, extra camps, and dryland training. -
Who: Ages 9 – 13/ Co-ed or Girls Only Options Available
When: Saturday OR Sunday Program
Dates: December 13, 2025 to March 14, 2026Skill Development geared towards preparing kids for competitive Freestyle Skiing (but with no obligation or expectation to register for competition). Introduction to actual competition is optional.
This program is for athletes aged 9 to 13 who are interested in developing their skills in freestyle skiing. If your skier has been in the “Jumps & Bumps” program for a few years, this is the next step for your skier’s freestyle progression!
Skiers are recommended to have gone through the highest level of Fundamentalz before joining Freestylerz, but athletes with strong skiing and jumping skills may be accepted. Athletes should be confident and in control of their skiing on black terrain and basic jump skills up to 180s and be able to slide a box or rail. Skiers will acquire more advanced skiing skills and learn a variety of tricks and spins.*Note that as applicable there will be additional costs for athletes such as competition registrations, competition coaching, extra camps, and dryland training.

Available to girls looking to boost their skills and confidence in either our FUNstylerz or Freestylerz programs, but with an additional level of support from an all-girls crew led by a female coach!!

Who: Ages 12+
When: Sunday Program
Dates: December 14, 2025 to March 15, 2026
Fun, diverse, and open environment to learn new tricks and skills either in the park, all mountain, on the landing bag and/or rails. No prerequisites of programs necessary, but strong & confident skiing and jumping skills are an asset. This program is recommended for athletes who have outgrown our Freestylerz program, but who do not wish to move on to a competitive program, however previous participation in an AFC program is not required. Athletes will develop skills in a structured and safe manner, with the ultimate objective of learning new things and riding with friends! Competition opportunities could be available per the skier’s choice.
Skiers will acquire more advanced skiing and jumping skills and learn a variety of tricks and spins, safely and efficiently. Coaches are trained and certified through the Freestyle Canada Coaching courses to develop skills in Moguls, Slopestyle/Terrain Park, Trampoline/Acrobatics, Teaching Inverts Safely, Big Air & All-Mountain Skiing.

When: Sundays Full Days
Dates: December 14, 2026 to March 15, 2026NEW THIS SEASON! Love freestyle but prefer hitting natural features on Westbank or The Pit at AMR? This program aims to help aspiring Big Mountain skiers to take their skills to the next level. Hone your 360's, grabs, and other skills in the park, and our certified coaches will help you bring them to your favourite natural hits across Apex's amazing freeride terrain.
No prerequisites of programs necessary, but skiers are recommended to have gone through the highest level of Fundamentalz and/or Freestylerz prior to registering for Freestyle Big Mountain. Athletes with strong skiing and jumping skills may be accepted. Athletes should be confident and in control of their skiing on black terrain and basic jump skills up to 180s. Skiers will acquire more advanced skiing skills and learn a variety of tricks and spins.
This program is intended to develop skills in a structured and safe manner, with the objective of preparing athletes for entry-level Big Mountain competitions, as well as learning new things and riding with friends! Competition opportunities could be available per the skier’s choice. Coaches are trained and certified through the Freestyle Canada and IFSA coaching courses to develop skills in both freestyle and freeride.

Dates: December 13, 2025 to March 14, 2026
JUNIOR PERFORMANCE is designed to maximize on snow training and skill development for those who are ready and interested in competition. This program will develop more advanced skiing skills and learn a variety of tricks and spins. Coaches are trained and certified through Freestyle Canada courses to develop skills in Moguls, Slopestyle/Terrain Park, Trampoline/Acrobatics, Big Air & All-Mountain Skiing.
This program will cover skill acquisition and preparation for all Freestyle disciplines. Junior Performance is primarily a 2-day program every weekend throughout the winter, however we do offer Saturday-only programming or busy families. Some physical training may be introduced at this level to optimize safety and learning. Skiers will be encouraged to experience some select competitions during the winter. This program is designed to let athletes have the freedom to play, discover and have fun in all of the disciplines, with high level coaching and support.
All participants must be able to competently ski a black diamond run, have solid ski stance and balance, and possess basic jumping skill: comfortable to take air and do tricks up to basic spins.*Please note, full optimization at this skill-development levels suggests that JUNIOR PERFORMANCE be a 2-day program, consisting of training every Saturday AND Sunday. By selecting Saturday-only programming, athletes may experience lower levels of competition readiness as opposed to a 2-day program. Coaches will work to mitigate this as best they can to ensure best possible experiences.

When: Most Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays + 2 camps and competitions
Dates: Starting November 17th, 2025Performance based program to support competitive skiers through a dedicated program aimed towards their athletic goals, with targeted goals and events.
This program is designed to support the needs of a dedicated freestyle athletes who want to learn, grow and advance in any of the sport's disciplines (moguls, slopestyle or big air). Typically, the program will run every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday throughout the winter, with off-season technical training factored to create a yearly plan for optimized skill development.
This program will include some physical training as part of every daily training session. Additional training may be organized during the year to optimize participation in certain competitions and/or camps.
Increased training volume is needed at this stage to optimize each athlete’s long-term potential and to safely acquire the competency to perform more difficult technical skills.
This is the highest level program Freestyle Apex offers, designed for motivated young skiers ages 12 and up, that want to take their skills to the next level. Skiers enrolled in this program will be encouraged to participate in BC Timber Tour Series events as well as appropriate higher level competitions that they may qualify for. Eligible athletes may have opportunities to compete at Canadian Cup events, Jr. Nationals and Senior Nationals, as well as forerunning opportunities as FIS level events. -
