Winter Freestyle & Fundamentalz Camps:
The Freestyle Ski camp days will run December 28/29/30 from 9am to 12pm – one hour lunch – then 1:00pm – 3:00pm each day. This camp is included for those enrolled in the full 2 day Performance and Jr Performance programs.
The Fundamentalz – Jumps & Bumps Ski camp days will run December 28/29/30 from 10am to 12pm – one hour lunch – then 1:00pm – 3:00pm each day.
Pick up at the end of the day will be at the base of the T-bar at 3pm

*There is no bib deposit, but failure to return bibs at the end of the season will be assessed a $35 charge.
Jumps and Bumps Fundamentalz!
Learn the FUNdamentalz of Freestyle Skiing!
Through the bumps and over jumps... Lessons will cover all of the basics to learn how to stand strong, carve a ski, safely hit your first jumps, learn some tricks, ski safely and confidently down most of Apex's great terrain! But most of all, it will be tons of smiles, lots of laughs, and lifelong friendships!
Focus: Fundamentals skiing skills applied to ALL of Apex Mountain Resort’s terrain: groomed runs, Moguls, Park and All Mountain as well as learning to jump SAFELY developing strong fundamental ski acrobatic skills.
Prerequisite: Skiers must be able to load a T-bar and/or chairlift unassisted AND ski comfortably on green runs.
*Note that as applicable there will be additional costs for athletes such as competition registrations, competition coaching, extra camps, and dryland training.

Focus: Skill Development geared towards preparing kids for competitive Freestyle Skiing (but with no obligation or expectation to register for competition). Introduction to actual competition is optional. This program is for athletes aged 9 to 13 who are interested in developing their skills in freestyle skiing. If your skier has been in the “Jumps & Bumps” program for a few years, this is the next step for their progression!
Coaches are trained through the NCCP certified Freestyle Canada courses to develop skills in Moguls, Slopestyle/Terrain Park, Trampoline/Acrobatics, Big Air & All-Mountain Skiing.
FREESTYLERZ is a 1-day program, every Saturday OR Sunday. GIRLSTYLERZ note above 1 or 2 day program.

Every attempt will be made to create a girls only "Girlstylerz" program from registrants in the Freestylerz programs who are interested in taking part. This will be dependent on registration numbers and interest in this as an option.

Focus: Fun, diverse, and open environment to learn new tricks and skills either in the park, all mountain, on the landing bag and/or rails. No prerequisites of programs necessary, but strong & confident skiing and jumping skills are an asset. This program is intended to develop skills in a structured and safe manner, and it is not aimed at preparing for competitions - but rather learning new things and riding with friends! Competition opportunities could be available per the skier’s choice.
Skiers will acquire more advanced skiing and jumping skills and learn a variety of tricks and spins, safely and efficiently. Coaches are trained and certified through the Freestyle Canada Coaching courses to develop skills in Moguls, Slopestyle/Terrain Park, Trampoline/Acrobatics, Teaching Inverts Safely, Big Air & All-Mountain Skiing.
FREESTYLERZ is every Sunday

Who: Skill Dependent - Recommended ages 10-13
When: Saturdays only until Winter Break then Saturdays and Sundays + camps and select competitions (48+ days)

JUNIOR PERFORMANCE is designed to maximize on snow training and skill development for those who are ready and interested in competition. This 2-day program will develop more advanced skiing skills and learn a variety of tricks and spins.
This program will cover skill acquisition and preparation for all Freestyle disciplines. Junior Performance is primarily a 2-day program every weekend throughout the winter. Some physical training will be introduced at this level to optimize safety and learning. Skiers will be encouraged to experience some select competitions during the winter. This program is designed to let athletes have the freedom to play, discover and have fun in all of the disciplines, with high level coaching and support.
All participants must be able to competently ski a black diamond run, have solid ski stance and balance, and possess basic jumping skill: comfortable to take air and do tricks up to basic spins.

All athletes will have access to the Apex Freestyle Terrain Area AFTA which is a development initiative between Apex Mountain Resort and the Apex Freestyle Club. It exists to provide training and competition opportunities for the sport of freestyle and all of its athletes.
