Jumps and Bumps! Learn the Fundamentalz of Freestyle Skiing! Through the bumps and over jumps... the lessons will cover all of the basics to learn how to stand strong, carve a ski, safely hit your first jump, learn some tricks, and ski in control and comfortably down most of Apex's great terrain! But most of all, it will be tonnes of smiles, lots of laughs, and lifelong friendships!
Focus: Fundamentals of skiing, introductions to skiing skills on groomed runs, moguls, learning to jump, and mountain safety.
**Skiers must be able to load a T-bar and/or chairlift unassisted (mostly) AND ski parallel on a green run, up to advanced parallel skiers.

This program is for athletes aged 9 to 13 who are interested in developing their skills in freestyle skiing. If your skier has been in Jumps & Bumps program for a few years, this is the next program for your skiers freestyle progression!
Skiers are recommended to have gone through the highest level of Fundamentalz before joining Freestylerz, but athletes with strong skiing and jumping skills will be accepted. Athletes should be confident in all black terrain, have decent ski control and carving, basic jump skills up to 180s and be able to slide a box or rail.
Skiers will acquire more advanced skiing skills and learn a variety of tricks and spins. Coaches are trained through the NCCP certified Freestyle Canada courses to develop skills in Moguls, Slopestyle/Terrain Park, Trampoline/Acrobatics, Big Air & All-Mountain Skiing.
FREESTYLERZ is a 1-day program, every Saturday OR Sunday
Optional Christmas Camps & Spring Break Camps available **separate costs and registrations
Who: Ages 12+

Dates: January 8 to April 2

Times: 9:00am to 3:00pm (11:30- 12:30pm lunch)
Program Costs: $650 + AFTA Membership
Focus: Fun, diverse, and open environment to learn new tricks and skills either in the park, all mountain, on the landing bag and/or rails. No prerequisites of programs necessary, but strong & confident skiing and jumping skills are an asset. This program is intended to develop skills in a structured and safe manner, and it is not aimed at preparing for competitions - but rather learning new things and riding with friends! Competitions are available at skiers choice.
Skiers will acquire more advanced skiing and jumping skills and learn a variety of tricks and spins, safely and efficiently. Coaches are trained and certified through the Freestyle Canada Coaching courses to develop skills in Moguls, Slopestyle/Terrain Park, Trampoline/Acrobatics, Teaching Inverts Safely, Big Air & All-Mountain Skiing.
FREESTYLERZ is a 1-day program, every Sunday.

This is a specialty program, designed to create a fun and supportive environment to learn with girls, led by amazing female coaches!
Skiers are recommended to have gone through the highest level of Fundamentalz before joining Girlstylerz, but athletes with strong skiing and jumping skills will be accepted.
Skiers will acquire more advanced skiing skills and learn a variety of tricks and spins. Coaches are trained through the NCCP certified Freestyle Canada courses to develop skills in Moguls, Slopestyle/Terrain Park, Trampoline/Acrobatics, Big Air & All-Mountain Skiing.
GIRSTYLERZ is a 1-day program, every Saturday starting January 1st and running until March 27th, 2022

We need a minimum enrolment of 6 skiers for each program to run.

CLUB ATHLETE – $75
For entry-level athlete training and for athletes who plan to participate in FUNdamentalz and/or Freestylerz programs and regional competitions. DOES NOT INCLUDE ACCIDENT INSURANCE, but accident insurance can be purchased along with the membership.
PROVINCIAL ATHLETE – $155
For athletes who plan to compete in provincial or national level competitions (e.g., Timber Tour, Canada Cup, Jr. Nationals). DOES NOT INCLUDE ACCIDENT INSURANCE, but accident insurance can be purchased along with the membership.
Apex Freestyle Membership - $50 for 1/2 day program, $75 for one day programs, $100 for 2 day or more programs.
The Apex Freestyle membership fee helps support the costs of maintaining and improving all of our amazing assets, including our facilities manager, keeping Kristi’s and Andi’s mogul courses in top condition, our two warming huts, our summer water ramp training facility and our newest investment into training the freestylers of tomorrow – our new Olympic sized landing bag !!
Volunteer Credit Program - each time you step up to volunteer (1/2 day commitments = 1 credit), you will earn a credit towards your next membership! Maximum of 5 credits can be earned to go towards a maximum of $100 coupon for your kids' programs! You MUST sign up for this program on registration, otherwise we won't have your contact info to issue credits, and you won't have access to membership and insurance. Your Freestyle Canada Membership Fee of $10 will be returned as well through this credit program.
Volunteer needs:
Jump site maintenance and chopping, landing bag set up and take-down, banners, fencing, Competition organizing committees, End of year events, swag bags, etc.

JUNIOR PERFORMANCE is an extension of the Freestylerz program, yet tied into the Performance Team as well - designed to maximize on snow training and skill development for those that are ready. This 2-day program is for skiers who are interested in developing their skills in freestyle skiing & trying those skills out in competition. Skiers will acquire more advanced skiing skills and learn a variety of tricks and spins. All Freestylerz Coaches are trained and certified through Freestyle Canada courses to develop skills in Moguls, Slopestyle/Terrain Park, Trampoline/Acrobatics, Big Air & All-Mountain Skiing.
This program is designed to support the needs of a dedicated to the young freestyle athlete who wants to learn, grow and advance in any or all of the sports disciplines. It runs 2 days every weekend throughout the winter, which is incorporated into a yearly plan that targets each individual athlete's goals and training needs. There may be extra dry land on the weekends for these athletes, as well as select competitions throughout the winter. This program is designed to let athletes have the freedom to play, discover and have fun in all of the disciplines, with some high level coaching and support.
+ Optional Water Ramp Camps, Trampoline Training and Dryland Training throughout the year.
All participants must be able to competently ski a black diamond, have strong stance and balance, basic to advanced jumping skills up to spins, and apparent carving skills.
JUNIOR TEAM is a 2-day program, every Saturday AND Sunday
Who: Ages 12+ (skill dependant)
When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday + 2 camps and competitions
Dates: December 3 to April 2 (30 sessions)

Program Cost: $1700
Focus: Performance based program to support athletes in a dedicated program towards their athletic goals, with targeted goals and events.
This program is designed to support the needs of a dedicated freestyle athlete who wants to learn, grow and advance in any of the sport's disciplines (moguls, slopestyle or big air). It runs 3 day every week which is incorporated into a yearly plan that targets each individual athlete's goals and training needs. There will be extra dryland training as well as select competitions throughout the winter.
Increased training hours are needed at this stage to develop each athlete’s long-term potential but more importantly, this will give them the fundamentals needed to perform more difficult technical skills safely.
This is the highest level program Freestyle Apex offers, designed for motivated young skiers ages 12 and up, that want to take their skills to the next level. With a high performance coaching staff and year-round programming consisting of at least two days a week of on snow training beginning mid to late November (snow conditions permitting) to April, as well as optional water ramp, trampoline and dryland training, athletes will have multiple opportunities to reach their goals.
Skiers will have the option to compete in all BC Timber Tour Series events. Eligible athletes will also have options to compete at Canadian Series events, COT, Jr. Nationals and Senior Nationals.
For those athletes not participating in the competitions, alternate training options will be made (if possible).
PERFORMANCE TEAM is a 3-day program, every Friday, Saturday AND Sunday

Focus: A supplemental program to the Performance Team to offer additional mid-week training opportunities, with additional sport science services such as nutrition, fitness programs and sport psychology sessions.
This is a 'pilot' program for the Apex Freestyle Club this season!
Mid-week training for those that are doing online or homeschool, or that can coordinate in-person classes around sport. We do not offer any direct academic tutoring or support at this time. We work on a schedule and timetable that allows scheduled time for academics as well as integrating cross training fitness and access to other sport sciences to develop a well-rounded athlete.

Wednesdays - morning block - on-snow skiing / afternoon block - fitness + study

A FIS license is included with the FIS Athlete license. It cannot be purchased separately. To activate your FIS license, you must :

Sign a FIS declaration form (.pdf 139KB) and email it to info@freestylecanada.ski.
Once steps 1 and 2 have been completed, please allow 5-10 business days for your FIS license to be activated. Once activated, athletes can find their FIS # on the FIS website.
