I grew up in OK Falls and learned to ski at Mt. Baldy Ski Resort at the age of three. Each season I enjoyed skiing more and more.
When I was seven we decided to get seasons passes at Apex. I joined the Carvers program and was enrolled in racing for a few years. While I enjoyed it and loved skiing fast, I was always drawn to the terrain park and wanted to learn how to do jumps and tricks. The next winter I joined the Apex Freestyle Team and for the next four years I took part in a one-day program so that I could have a day of free skiing with my friends and family while still gaining new knowledge from professional coaching.
Last year, I decided to take some of the coaching courses and I was fortunate enough to coach one of the age 9-10 classes. Coaching has by far been my favorite job. Connecting with the kids and seeing them progress has been so gratifying. I’m excited to coach again this winter and also seek to improve my own abilities further. I’ve always had a desire to learn and teach more park-oriented skiing and I hope that I can assist in moving that aspect of the freestyle club forward.
