Apex Freestyle Club (AFC) – Who Are We?
AFC welcomes both recreational and competitive freestyle skiers. We develop safe, strong and capable all-round skiers in a fun and supportive environment. Apex Freestyle is a not-for-profit club providing coaching for over 75 competitive and recreational skiers using Freestyle Canada certified coaches and programming. We offer a safe and fun path for all athletes to progress through moguls, slopestyle, all-mountain and aerobatics.
AFC offers four seasons of programing including water ramp, pre-season trampoline and dryland training. Our mogul course at Apex is world-renowned, regularly attracting international ski teams.
- Coach Training – AFC coaches are regularily trained and certified in leadership and athletic excel-lence.
- Repair and maintance – equipment and facilities at Apex Mountain and at our Water Ramp.
- Competition swag bags – promoting our club and sponsors.
2019/20 AFC Host Events
December 14-15th, Canada Cup Series FIS Canadian Selections.
Canada’s top provincial team athletes compete for limited positions on the Canadian National team.
February 2020 Regional Youth Event (TBD)
March 28-29th, 2020 Canadian Championships:
Top athletes from around North America and beyond competing in 2 events, moguls and dual moguls to make the world cup circuit.
These are the next Olympic athletes.

Head Coach Profile – Tanya Callon
This summer we welcomed a new head coach to our club. Tanya Callon grew up skiing at Apex Mountain Resort from the age of 5. She has been involved in freestyle skiing for over 26 years and has been highly influential to the success of many athletes around the province.
After retiring from the National Mogul Team Tanya started coaching. She has over 10 years of experience working in high performance programs and 2 decades working in developmental programs. She is now excited to return to where it all began.
Tanya is looking forward to creating fun, skill-based development and performance based programs for the Apex Freestyle Club. Tanya looks forward to our new Girlstylerz program this year!
